I have an extensive personal collection of refrigerator magnets from around the world - everywhere from Kentucky to Cape Town, from Minnesota to (believe it or not) Madagascar. The one country where neither I nor any of my friends or relatives have ever seen a fridge magnet for sale is Pakistan.

I’ve set out to rectify that, using a selection of Pete Sabo’s beautiful photographs from our February-April 2009 trip that resulted in my book Overtaken By Events: A Pakistan Road Trip (2010).

The goal is to get a nice picture of Pakistan on every fridge in America. You can help. Ask for the Pete’s Pakistan fridge magnets at my speaking engagements, and soon they’ll be available for sale online along with my books and other goodies.

For now, enjoy these images of the first three magnets selected for the No Fridge Left Behind program. And if you want any of these specifically, or another of Pete’s photo has caught your eye and you want to suggest it as a magnet, just drop me an email.
